SchoolGrid’s menu and recipe management system – MenuGrid – is simple to use, but very precise, and has been the system of choice for analysing the dishes presented in LACA’s ‘Plant Based Recipe Book’. The system is now being offered on a ‘free for life’ basis to all local authority caterers, including in-person training and ongoing support.
Why plant based? The demand for plant-based meals continues to increase as morepeople adopt a ‘flexitarian’ approach to eating with vegetarianism and veganism gaining in popularity too.
These changes are being driven by concerns about health, the environment and animal welfare. School caterers have to respond to this demand from their customers while continuing to meet nutritional standards and provide a balanced diet that includes meat and dairy.
