We are delighted to have been named joint winner of the 2024 Outstanding Supplier of the Year in the LACA Awards for Excellence. The award was revealed at a glittering ceremony on Thursday 4th July in front of some of the leading names from the school food sector.
The LACA Awards for Excellence aim to celebrate individuals and teams who continue to make a ‘real difference’ to education catering and school food.
Anita Brown, chair of LACA, commented:
“The LACA Awards for Excellence aim to celebrate individuals, teams and organisations who go above and beyond to make a difference in education catering. The standard of entries this year was very high and well done to all the winners tonight. It is also important to recognise the nominees who are also winners as they continue to provide schoolchildren across the country with a healthy, hot and nutritious meal every day.”
Here is a deep-dive into the work we have been doing which helped us achieve the award.
LACA Outstanding Supplier Award
MenuGrid offered free to public sector caterers who are LACA Members
We have been a LACA Partner for six years and look to contribute wherever we can to support their work. As part of our mission to support excellence in school catering, we offer our MenuGrid system free to all public sector caterers who are LACA Members, including free on-site training and support. MenuGrid is a complete recipe management and menu planning/costing/analysis package, replacing similar (paid-for) systems.
Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge
New for 2024, SchoolGrid has partnered with LACA and invested in the LACA Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge. In addition to sponsoring, providing prizes, and supplying resources for judging, we have also committed dedicated external PR and marketing resources to further support the competition and LACA’s goals.
“We’d like to thank SchoolGrid for their support of the Grab ‘N’ Go challenge; the ideas developed by the incredible school chefs who compete are an inspiration and help us all to develop this vital aspect of the service.” LACA Chair Anita Brown.
